Read-only, sourced, and versioned.
Use SlangLane to look up documented meanings, show regional notes, or identify terms in a phrase. Responses include canonical URLs and source links. Some entries cover adult vocabulary with non-graphic explanations; use the maturity fields when your application needs to filter them.
Remote MCP
Endpoint: https://slanglane.com/mcp Transport: Streamable HTTP (stateless; JSON responses) Authentication: none for public read-only tools Protocol versions: 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26
Add the endpoint to an MCP client that supports a remote Streamable HTTP server. Publishing an endpoint does not automatically connect it to any assistant or platform.
Available tools
lookup_term— an exact term, slug, or documented alias.search_terms— ranked lexical search with an optional adult-language filter.decode_phrase— dictionary matches, not mind-reading or a generated translation.compare_usage— documented regional and register notes.get_related_terms— published related entries.get_recent_terms— recent published summaries.
Resources expose the publication manifest and entry Markdown. Requests use an existing edition; no public tool calls a language model.

Attribution and uncertainty
Preserve canonical_url, source_urls, checked_at, evidence_status, and release_id. An entry is a documented meaning, not proof of speaker intent or a diagnosis. Unknown terms return no match rather than a made-up definition.
Limits
Inputs are bounded; search returns at most 20 results and phrase decoding accepts up to 1,000 characters. Dynamic requests are rate limited, and the API has an aggregate daily serving quota. A 429 response is a signal to back off. Cache versioned reference results rather than repeatedly asking for the same entry.
Machine-readable alternatives
Every entry has a /terms/{slug}.md view. llms.txt describes formats and interpretation. The summary dataset has a separate reuse license.
