BEHIND THE WORDS

A small privacy footprint.

What SlangLane stores, how local saved words work, and where search and decoder text is processed.

No account required.

The dictionary is public. SlangLane does not currently use advertising trackers or third-party social embeds. Cloudflare serves the site and may process request information, including network addresses and security logs, to deliver and protect it.

Words saved in your browser

My words and Daily Sprint results use this browser’s local storage. They are not synchronized to an account. Clearing local storage removes them. The collection export is created in your browser.

Search and decoding

With JavaScript enabled, suggestions and phrase decoding match against a downloaded dictionary index in your browser. Phrase text is not sent to an AI service. Submitting a search to the search results page, using the non-JavaScript decoder form, or calling the API/MCP does send the query to the server. URLs can appear in infrastructure logs; do not put private information in them.

Correction reports

The correction form stores the term, the message, a report ID, and a timestamp in a private database queue. No email address is requested. Reports are retained for up to 90 days unless needed to resolve an active editorial issue. Please do not submit personal details about other people.

API and MCP

The public interfaces read the published dictionary. They cannot run the editorial generator, read drafts, or fetch arbitrary addresses. Rate limiting is performed through Cloudflare and aggregate daily request counts; the application does not maintain a public database of visitor identities.
